lHow to check your case status; Where to find current case processing times; and How to notify us if your address changes.

Who are legitimate immigration service providers?
The following are authorized immigration service providers:
lRepresentatives accredited by the Office of Legal Access Programs (OLAP) of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and working for DOJ-recognized organisations; and Attorneys in good standing who are not subject to any order restricting their ability to practise law.
lAttorneys
An attorney must be the following in order to represent you before USCIS:
Eligible to practise law in any state, possession, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia, and a member in good standing of the highest court's bar.
Not under any court order suspending, enjoining, restraining, disbarring, or otherwise restricting his or her ability to practise law.
To represent you before USCIS, attorneys do not need to be licenced in the state where they live or practise. They can represent you before USCIS as long as they are eligible to practise law and are in good standing in each jurisdiction where they are licenced.
How can I locate legitimate immigration service providers online?
The EOIR provides a list of attorneys in your state who offer immigration services for free or at a low cost. They also provide a list of recognised organisations and accredited representatives. The American Bar Association also has information on where you can find legal services in your state.
When selecting an attorney, you should consider the following:
lCheck to see if the attorney is eligible to practise in, and a member in good standing of, any U.S. state, possession, territory, or commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
lCheck to see if the attorney is subject to any court orders that limit his or her ability to practise law.
lRequest to see the attorney's current licencing document and confirm his or her eligibility to practise with the state agency responsible for regulating attorneys.
lExamine the Directory of Currently Disciplined Practitioners. The Executive Office for Immigration Review maintains a list of individuals who have been expelled, disbarred, or suspended from practising law before USCIS.
